Background
REAL SHEPHERD NURSERY & PRIMARY SCHOOL is a day and boarding mixed school located in Kasasa West village, Mukoko parish, Bukulula sub-county – Lukaya Town council, Kalungu – Masaka district.
The founder, Mr. Lubega William was inspired to start a school in his own community to help the natives and those who had similar challenges like the ones he encountered such as. lack of school fees, long distances, loss of parets, he faced during his school time.
Real Shepherd Nursery & Primary School was started on 11th of May, 2011. It began with only fifty pupils, four teachers and classrooms were made of wood.
The lifestyle was poor due to lack of financial support and this continued upto 2014.
In 2015, we received sponsors from Netherlands, i.e. Monilla and Reuben. This was the fisrt team to work with us and they later connected us to Livingstone Organisation from Netherlands founded by Stephen. Stephen further mobilised more groups to come and these were led by Monilla, Reuben, Judith among others. In the same year, they constructed the first modern classroom.
In addition, with an aim of solving all the issues that hindered children from attaining education in the community, the school formed an organisation called REAL SHEPHERD COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION (RESHECODEF – UGANDA) that supports the vulnerable children including thos who are HIV positive.
